Common toad (Bufo bufo)
Description:

I posted photos of this spawn a week ago. I guess that the white areas are bits, just under the water surface, that have suffered frost damage. There was certainly ice on some of the puddles on Saturday morning.

remove..?

yes, interesting. This is common with frog psawn (I mean spawn!) as it floats but I have always assumed that toads' does not. I suppose the tangling in the strings may usually prevent that.
Either way, I suggest you might find a mo to remove the dead bits as they may be diseased.

Interesting

It's interesting to see the white and black embryos on the same string. It also sheds some light on this observation which I wasn't sure about before and had been unidentified for nearly a year.
