P semiovatus often dries with this pattern on the cap.
Thanks flaxton - I looked at quite a lot of photos of P semiovatus and none of them looked quite like my photos. There are several very dry and shriveled troops on the manure heap so they must have been there for some time. It is good to know that I am along the right lines with this one.
