Correct Id

It certainly is an African/brown house snake. The full scientific name is Lamprophis fuliginosus. You could add an identification with this scientific name iSpot will link to other observations. Great photo of behaviour.

I don't know a lot, other than they are nocturnal and mainly eat lizards (but I guess you already knew that...) According to my book they are probably the most common snake in Africa and are very tolerant of urban environments.
