Wow Kieran! How on earth can you distinguish species in this genus?
I am not as confident now as when I made the ID attempt, but it could be in the Rhynchitidae family (which consists of Lasiorhynchites and Coenorrhinus). These weevils have hair, like your weevil.
I think an Invertebrates expert may be able to provide a more accurate identification than me.
