"My Spot" Changes - filters

I have four out of the five filters ticked, the one I don't want is "Obs where you have agreed with an ID."

Yet I still get those popping up on my list.

I didn't realise this was happening until a new, keen iSpotter "agreed" with about a million Obs, leaving me with several hundred items on my Changes tab.

(Have seperately asked for "click here to clear unread content"!)

This revealed that even though I have unticked that last option, I am still getting those Obs appearing on my list.

Anyone else?

I too am having some

I too am having some difficulties with the 'changes' filters. I have ticked all the options but the only one returning results is identifications by other people that I have agreed with (under the counter intuitive heading "Identifications that have been agreed with by others").
What is most useful is to be able to look up identifications that I have made that other people have agreed/disagreed with but seemingly the only way I can do this is by trawling through the 'observations' drop down menu which can be a bit time consuming (even if I only search the relevant taxa category).
Is this possibly a browser compatibility issue? I use Firefox. In any case it would be good to get it sorted.

Just to add to the above -

Just to add to the above - the changes menu is supposed to highlight any changes that have occurred in the last 30 days so the problem above is not simply because there were no relevant results for any of the other filters.

I'm on Firefox, too.

It had not occured to me that it might be a browser problem.

I have not pursued this issue, as I was beginning to think that I'm just a bit too fussy, but now another iSpotter has agreed that they, too, would like this filter to work in a slightly different way.

I really would like to be able to select "ID agreed with" where I have supplied an ID.

Would it be possible to deselect "ID agreed with" where I am just one of many agreeing with someone else's ID.

It's possibly a bit egocentric?

But it is of more value to be able to see if my ID was correct, than to see how many other people agree with my agreement on someone else's ID.

If you see what I mean.

You can be wrong ...

... in an identification. You can also be wrong in agreeing to someone else's identification. So, from the point of view of getting feedback, and improving your identification skills both are of interest.

The problem with tracking changes in the latter category is the sheer volume - either you don't track them, and lose the feedback, or you go easy on agreements to keep the volume down to a level that you can deal with.

Well, yes...

...that's the problem. I am finding myself reluctant to add an agreement where someone already has at least two or three "high star" agreements - not because I have any doubt about their ID, but to keep, as you say, the volume down to a reasonable level.

But I still like to tick that filter, for the rare occasions where I have an ID to offer.

Perhaps I should not bother with the filters, but should add to my "favourites" any cases where I add an ID. Then I can just look at MySpot, favourites - and I can un-favourite them once I am satisfied with the responses.

Hmm, I seem to have solved my problem...

Oh, no, I haven't...

... as there is no indication in Favourites that anything has changed.

*sigh*

I'd still like the facility "click here to clear unread entries" in MySpot Changes.

Please?

Filters

I've got everything ticked except "Observations I've agreed with..". I favourite obs where I want to follow what happens. It all seems to work well for me. The only problem I have is when I go to the Unread tab. I click through everything new, then as I get towards the end of the list, several will come up that I have already read. This morning it was a whole bunch of observations from the same person, made in 2011. The last couple are often ones I've agreed with very recently. I think we just have to enjoy the idiosyncrasies!
By the way, I use Chrome.

"Enjoy the idiosyncrasies"....

... what a great idea!

*sighs, relaxes, slumps in front of screen*

I shall take this excellent advice and just not worry about it!

Although I would still secretly like the "click here to clear all unread" facility in MySpot changes...
