Description:

Pale off-white coloured thallus growing on siliceous gravestone. Lecanorine apothecia with brown-pink discs. Discs in older apothecia almost hemispherical and margins not visible. Some thalli with small ‘granular’ mounds that might be soralia (third image). Possibly Lecanora rupicola.

Identifications

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Identifications

Thanks for help with this lichen (and with lots of others from recent weeks). Saw these brown- pink apothecia at this location last year and had no idea about a possible identity then. Many thanks.
