You have the correct ID, it is a Madeira Wall lizard. However, the scientific name has changed to Teira dugesii. If you add an ID with this name I will agree it. There are a few observations of this species on iSpot and it would be good to link to them.

The lizards from the genus Teira were split from Lacerta recently. Two Teira species occur in "Europe", although these have an African lineage (Madeira is an African island biogeographically speaking).
