It's quite hard to see from the photo the extent of the scale tufts. Both species do have tufts to some extent.
A. cristana does not always have the very large scale tufts seen when fresh, I believe they easily wear away.
The wing shape on your moth looks closer to cristana to me. But this isn't the best feature to use.
They are usually distinguishable. Could you perhaps get a sharper image from the side-on profile?
Just need Ron to change (or remove) his agreement and it will show up correctly.
