The Latin name of star flower seems to change quite regularly eg Ipheion uniflorum so it might be somewhere else in your books

Most pictures of the star flower show long linear leaves. Do you think that the leaf I took a close-up of belongs to another plant?
Yes they have long linear lvs that may smell slightly garlicy - The "basic" pale blue plant seems to grow/spread well. Fancy varieties like Froyle's Mill seem to be less spreading
