Seen at a very long distance. You can just see the characteristic under wing colouring, and the crooked wing shape in two of the shots.

It's a long way off, isn't it? But I'm pretty sure you're right.
It's the second picture that convinces me, Roger. I saw an Osprey fly over Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire quite recently; that was a fair way off too, and it forced me to look very, very carefully.
