Description:

Can anyone help ID this plant please. It has suddenly turned up in our garden never been there before. I have no idea where it has come from and it looks as though its going to be a bit of a menace its so prolific.

This is a common weed and it

This is a common weed and it annoys some people. But it's not very big, it's easy to pull out and it does not bother neighbouring plants much. And I have lost count of the number of small kids I have entertained by showing them how the can make the ripe pods go "ping" by touching them. So if you have small people you want to introduce to the natural world, you may, like me, come to see it as a friend. If you don't want it, pull it out now before the pods are pingable or you will have plenty more before long.
