Description:

These geese were among many other water fowl by a lake in a park. I cannot find them in my bird books. I presume they are not native.

Geese /ducks

Hi, welcome to i-Spot. I hope you continue.
These birds can be almost similar in size to geese but as Mr Brooks has identified they are ducks. They come in a variety of colours and shapes, often bemusingly so, though the significant identifier is the wattled skin (sort of lumpy cancerous looking [not a technical term]) around the face.
As I understand it they are not "native" having originated (I think) in Russia (hence; Muscovy = Moscow) but have been here a long time. I saw them in the dark distant past of 1950's.
When does an "invader" become established ?

I am happy to be corrected on any of the above (other than I saw them in the 50's)

Providence

Oh don’t get them all started on that theme Geoff. The rabbit was introduced by the Romans ... ;-)
