There has been arctic terns reported at this location today on migration so they are definitely in the area

...sounds like it is an Arctic then - did you manage to notice whether it had a black tip to it's beak?
The photo shows the bright blood-red colour of the arctic tern's bill very clearly. Common terns have longer, more orange-red bills. Other arctic features visible on the photo are the neck-less appearance, the white cheeks, long tail-streamers and the clear grey primaries.
