A big old tree among birches on the edge of a raised peat bog. Any ideas?

These needles look too long for Scots Pine, the bark also looks rather dark - I suspect it will be a Pinus nigra (Corsican or Austrian Pine), but there are not sufficient details in these photos to give a confident identification. For conifers photos of the cones and buds can be very helpful along with details of the number of needles in clusters and the needle length. It is best to look for fallen cones if there are none visible/close on the tree.
