Thanks for your ids. I was not sure if it was a Common Quaker or a Lead Coloured Drab, so did not offer a suggestion. These are both very variable species and I thought it looked very like one of Lewington's illustrations of a Lead Coloured Drab, and that Common Quakers seem to be more of a browny/orange hue, but I am happy to go with your suggestion.

I agree, Chris. Not easy to tell some of these Orthosia species apart, but I'll go with Common Quaker. Thanks.
