Description:

these 2 bees are probably both common carder bees but one is a much darker colour then the other.

very variable

Yes, Bombus pascuorum does seem to vary a lot in the extent of ginger and black hairs; also bumblebees can get worn and very faded, adding to the complications of trying to idenfity them!
