Description:

This is a very small bird about the size of a great tit. I think it is a female serin. its on its own.

Serin

Serin is essentially a continental species. A few are seen here, each year, but they are very rare, really. They don't look very different, but they have a smaller, stubbier bill...not a sharply pointed finch-like bill.

Siskin are a nice one to see, and they are entering gardens across the country in unusually high numbers, at the moment.
