This is one of the birds from the parks collection, but you may also have seen free flying feral individuals. There are quite a few free flying Red-crested Pochard around London, and these are considered to be a self sustaining population.
I couldn't work out if the St Janes's Park birds had clipped wings or if the abundant food from tourists was why there was such a concentration of species there... Either way it seemed a great opportunity to photograph and subsequently identify them. I'm still puzzling over the various Pelican species and will post the photos when I've finally decided which one is which!
