Notes: A flock of birds that were unbelievably difficult to capture on the camera's autofocus, so well did they blend into the background field. Most were completely unobserved until they took to the air. Having recently identified my first meadow pipit, I am going for the same id again. These birds were only a little bigger than a robin, but their bill was slimmer than I envisage a tree pipit's to be. Doubts come from the way the streaking seems to stop beneath the breast but continue down the flanks, although the extent of the streaking was not consistent between the birds.
