Description:

I passed these geese walking along a road adjacent a freshwater river a bit above the tidal weir on the River Neb in Peel. They were quite comfortable with my presence. I think the white (females?) are domestic, and the coloured one a Greylag cross

    Greylag goose cross (Anser sp)
Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.

Hybrid

The dark one looks to have some swan Goose in there. Probably a Swan/Greylag cross?

Thanks,
I thought it had swan-ish aspects, but did not think swan and goose cross-bred. Or is there a breed called the "Swan Goose" rather than swan/goose. I am a bit weak on larger birds. Greylag was the nearest I could get confined to goose.

Swan Goose

Yes...a goose! Google it and you'll see. The dark back of the neck is a sign of a Swan Goose influence. No Swans involved!!

Ah, therein lies my constraints. I have limited and difficult access to the interweb, and rely on information passed to me by my mother or the vellum scrolls passed down to me which do not necessarily include all the modern knowledge.
I am grateful for your guidance.
