Description:

Almost white crustose thallus on deciduous tree trunk. Apothecia look a bit like barnacles at first. The apothecia have rising thalline margins with proper margins visible inside. Possibly Thelotrema lepadinum.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Thalline and proper margins.

Thanks for considering this identity. Think this is first lichen I've seen in which thalline and proper margins are both visible.
