Hi .out of curiosity...how did you get such a great picture of the bullfinch
what camera , lens etc
I have a pair coming to my feeders but cant get anywhere near them
any tips would be greatly appreciated
I took this on the verge of a public car park. The Bullfinch was clearly not phased by people or dogs since this area is crawling with both! That allowed me to get very close without it flying away. It moved around a lot but I got there in the end.
I find that just standing still near the feeders with my camera for a few minutes is enough for the birds to return to their normal behaviour. You can get some great shots that way with any camera and lens combination. Alternatively any form of temporary hide will work. Try a tent, awning or windbreak.
