leaf miner
leaf damage by miner
Description:

Mines of holly leaf gall fly larva, with tiny emergence hole just visible. I enjoy looking for evidence of blue tit predation on these - an empty mine and a beak shaped scar often visible in the leaf! Excellent for demonstrating food chains.
