Long legged white bird. Smaller than a heron but with heron-like features.

Hot spot

Cheshire seems to be a bit of a hot spot for egrets with only very isolated reports from north of there.

... and the yellow feet are always diagnostic - but be warned as they enjoy muddy wading the feet don't always show that well!!
I've seen them locally to me (Hull) or at least on the coast here so that must be around about the same latitude (?)

Up North

I posted a fuzzy photo a few months ago of one in Montrose Basin on the East coast of Scotland. That's a long way North of your bird.

They look as if they should be in the tropics:-)
