Description:

White crustose lichen, thallus about 25 cm diameter, growing on granite. Thallus covered with densely packed coralloid isidia. Bulges in the thallus are also covered with the isidia. Possibly Pertusaria corallina.

Identifications

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Interesting lumps

I have seen similarly strange things of this species and have never found an explanation. Fertile warts are rare, but they should look a lot different:

Identification and information.

Thanks 'Thistle' and Nigel for help with identification. Also thanks for information and image showing the fertile warts.
I wondered about the lumps on this thallus. The isidia seemed to me to be simpler rod-like and less coralloid on the lumps than elsewhere on the thallus or perhaps more densely packed but these may have been false impressions.
