A Cormorant seen at a distance with a catch (Brown trout?). It made short work of it!
No interactions present.
Esox lucius I reckon.
Fantastic sequence!! I watched a Great Northern Diver doing the same thing with a small flatfish on Thursday but this is so much more impressive. My camera wasn't up to the task.
... looked again.
Thanks. On the limit of mine! So a Pike then? That will please the fishermen.
Someone told me a long time ago that a cormorant could deal with a trout of up to 2lbs, approx 42cms. I found it hard to believe but the above pictures are making me wonder because that is a substantial little pike.
