Photo added

In the original picture the frogspawn looked a bit odd - flattened in places rather than rounded. In the added photo (different location nearby - 14/3/13) I noticed a duck approaching and wondered if that could be the explanation - ie, that the ducks had been trying to eat the frogspawn?

Yes, ducks will eat frogspawn!

Unnaturally large numbers of waterfowl are bad for all biodiversity in a water body!
