Description:

This fruit hung from branches of tree as individual fruits. The brown fruit coating is easily broken to reveal soft flesh surrounding this star shaped stone.

It would be quite interesting if you could post a further observation later in the year of the tree and its leaves and flowers, then may get a more definitive identification.
