Dryad’s saddle (Polyphporus squamosus)

Growing in fork of small tree (unknown species) on edge of recreation ground. Upper surface smooth, white and fan / kidney- shaped. Margin smooth. No bands of scales. ? washed off over winter. Short stout stipe visible at centre of tier with caps either side. Underside whitish cream pores.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
