Moth Perhaps

Observed: 3rd March 2013 By: LeeDudley

This stick-insect like creature unfurled its wings and appeared like a moth in flight. It was keeping warm in a dense conifer ( a dwarf cultivar of Cryptomeria japonica) which I was felling.

Species with which Plume Moth (Emmelina monodactyla) interacts

Given the time of year

this has to be E. monodactyla. Later in the year E. argoteles is possible (but extremely unlikely, bordering on the impossible, in that location).
