Motacilla alba subsp. yarrellii

This is clearly a Pied Wagtail. You could add a more specific ID of Motacilla alba subsp. yarrellii

Help reduce my ignorance, please!

What features indicate the sub-species?

Ian

Yarrellii

Yarrellii is the Pied Wagtail, the dusky dark flanks and the dark back are signs to look out for. The White Wagtail is much lighter and does not show black on the back.
