Maybe mink Valerie? Long and thin looking for fox. Does look like fox in texture/colour but the shape might be more minky?
The habitat would be right for mink, so it could be.
This is twisted along its full length and full of downy feathers. This indicates it's from a small mustelid - weasel, stoat and, considering where found, polecat, pine martin or mink.
A scale could be useful.
