Very obvious veins and largish leaf teeth suggest M. annua. Can't see from the photo, but I always check by looking to see whether the leaves are hairy. Minutely hairy = M. perennis, hairless = M. annua. Assuming that you don't have fruits which are much more distinct.

I checked the leaves carefully at the time and couldn't see any hairs apart from those on the leaf edges.
My doubts were due to the date and also the fact that the leaves were matt rather than shiny, though the fact the leaves were matt is probably due to the fact that it is alongside a fairly busy road.
