Could you link me to any definite V. saulii images/reference material. I tried to google search for images but got the usual mixture of velia images with a variety of titles. It'd be good to see a definite saulii, there are more caprai images available. Thanks.

No. 12 has an article about separating Velia spp. But with males, I would prefer to dissect them to be certain.
Thanks John, thats good reference material. I must try to put it into use and study some specimens, see if I can get any reliable IDs of either species.
Concentrate on getting females - no spines on the hind femur. They are much easier to key out to species.
Thanks John, yeah I'm not quite ready to start dissecting males so I'll stick to the females for now. One thing I noticed about this one above was the height of the orange ridges along the abdomen. I hadnt seen it so ridge like before.
