I think and stand to be corrected but the short hairs indicate either a 6-spot or a 5-spot Burnet. The Narrow-bordered 5-spot has long hairs.

That is correct

Given the location I don't think it is possible to say which of the two it is.

coincidence??

Possibly a coincidence but this caterpillar was photographed on the same date and the same location as a 6-spot burnet moth (a separate observation)
