Frozen solid

Description:

These were frozen solid to the tree trunk (hence the shine). Caps were of various shapes and sizes (2-5 cm) and gills on the underside. No observable ring. Could not detect a smell but they were frozen after all. Growing on a winter dormant tree but I can not remember what species it was.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
