Cant actually see any teeth/spines in your picture. Can you confirm underside was covered in dense spines?

Sorry D.M.H. it was the first

Sorry D.M.H. it was the first time that I had come across this fungus and did not know what features would be relevant to its identification.

The tentative identification that I made was due to the fact that I could not find reference to any alternative (I'm afraid it was made more in ignorance than experience)

Again, I shall have to return to the location to make a better observation.

Thanks for your interest.
