Cankers on White MIlkwood

Description:

Can anyone possibly tell me what these cankers are on the leaves of White Milkwoods? I can't seem to find any insects inside them (regularly anyway) but also wasn't too sure about it being a fungal infection. Cheers

Looks like a gall...

...rather than a fungal infection.

According to google, the galls are caused by mites which may be microscopic, hence you would not find visible insects inside them.

If you check the South Africa iSpot site (suffix .za) there are a lot more sightings, which might contain useful comments.
