Anthophila fabriciana

Hi Rod, I think the Latin name is Anthophila fabriciana, hence why your sighting is not linking to others.

Anthophila fabriciana.

Although the scientific name is slightly incorrect, I have agreed that it is a Nettle-tap moth anyway.

ID

Many thanks, Chris and Dennis. I suspect that I originally got the incorrect masculine/'us' ending from one of the Collins guides

Latin names

Hi Rod, if you know this already, sorry. The best way to enter the ID is to enter "Nettle Tap" and use the Latin name from the "get recommended" tab. If you were to enter Anthophila fabricianus, a tip is to back tab a few letters and see what iSpot offers you. Chris.
