I agree with both ID's. A view of the curved hind tibia on the vespillo would confirm it. It could be made into a seperate observation to link it up with other obs. of the same species.
I wonder could the one on the right be N. interruptus? Both bands are interrupted but without a view of the hind tibia vespillo maybe cant be safely ruled out?
Hi Cathal - this is going back a bit, but I hadn't noticed your earlier comment. New photo showing curved hind tibia which makes the larger one vespilio?
I'll add that as a separate obs - good idea.

Yes Jamie, they look pretty curved to me. Vespillo it is then. Certainly worth posting and adding to its rightful carousel.
