Description:

Growing on a bench - very small, only a couple of cm wide.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

No interactions present.

Not turkeytail to velvety but

Not turkeytail to velvety but not hairy like T.hirsuta. If you had cut section it might of helped determine to species ;-)
eliminated Stereum due to pale colour of pores.

It's not too far away - could cut a section to try and confirm ID. Do I just cut a chunk out and photograph it?

Yes being careful just remove a small section from edge. You are looking for a yellow band between pores and flesh.
