I feel that I ought to know what this is but it has escaped my memory. Nor have I recognised it in my plant guide.
It has palmately lobed leaves; it is hairy; it has tiny white flowers, which were not open; it is low growing and appears to be spreading across the ground. It was located at the side of a path on the edge of a plantation close to a playing field.

Plant for identification

Thank you for your identification. I have found the plant in my book and will look at it again to confirm which of the subspecies it may be.
