Fantastic photo. Did you see its tail, to distinguish it from a field vole, or do you not get field voles in that area?

Thanks Annabelle - it was taken on Xmas Day morning. I'd just arrived at the RSPB reserve and saw it scurrying around. I was very lucky it decided to pause with its paws in the sunshine, as they are normally so active and difficult capture on camera.
Kind Regards

This is a lovely photo of a vole. Unfortunately there just is not enough to go on to identify it. The light distorts the colour of the fur making it appear intermediate between bank and field vole. It is definitely a vole though, small eyes and ears covered in fur. Also short, rounded snout.
