If you zoom in the male birds in the other images all look like Wigeon too (same features as you described), and the female in the first image looks good for wigeon to me.
Hi Ian, I agree with you, I only described the male in the first image as I could see a pinkishness (if that is a word) about the breast. Regards Chris
Edit - now looking on a big screen I think I can see that pinkishness in all the images.
