Seeds or fungus?

Description:

Ground-dwelling mass of hairy seed-like organisms, each about 8mm wide, started as a tight clump and spreading outwards, as if growing, but might just be seeds opening?

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

This are not sycamore seeds.

These are not sycamore seeds. These open as two green cotyledons, nothing like this.

Edit - yes, plane makes more sense.

Certainly not like any fungus I know. What I find strange is the surrounding material. No leaves, except Bracken, what was the habitat?
