What a gorgeous looking fish!
Yes. Looks good enough to eat! ;-)

When trout feed over a Marl bottom and Chara weed they taste quite awful like mud!But that's not the only reason it went back. This is a very young fast growing trout and it will set some lucky anglers' heart a racing. Even just by seeing it sip chironomids off the surface on a calm May evening. If it's lucky that little fella could reach 7lbs plus living in this particular bay.
NOW I'M EXCITED
If you meet that trout again at 7lb you will be happy, I wonder how much weight it has added by now? Would it have been the 2lb above?
1.75lb on that day, but it had a long rich feeding season ahead of it as well you know. What weight this year?Could it be nudging the 2.5 mark or better.Whether or not it spawned would also have a bearing on this. I saw him rising from the road as I parked and he obligingly took my first offering. The rest of the day didn't go just as well as the first 5 minutes; But sure that's fishin'!
I'd say at least 2.5lb by the summer. It is a particulary nice looking trout, and well proportioned. The variation in brown trout colouration is fantastic.
