Description:

At first I thought that this was a Pied Wagtail, but going through my ID books it looks suspiciously like a White Wagtail, although whats it's doing here lord only knows.

White

White Wagtails are paler grey on the back than this bird and the flank beneath the wings is white, lacking the broad dusky area of Pied, which this bird shows.

Apart from the greyer back, there is no join between cap and bib.
My Birds of Britain says "may be seen on migration".
