Hi Lynda, I don't think they are Sisken. The silhouetting is a problem with obtaining the necessary ID detail. I initially thought Redpoll but I cannot see a black bib, so perhaps Linnet. In truth though I cannot be sure from the detail available, maybe someone else can do better.

Thanks Chris, to be honest I perhaps should not have put such a photo up, there is little detail to go on. But thank you(again) anyway. Lynda
Keep putting your pictures up. Photos like this make me look for detail (even if it's not there). This helps me develop my still novice level ID skills.
Keep them coming.
OK - Bill - glad to be of help - thanks. Lynda
The right hand bird appears to have a yellowish bill and it looks small, but it is difficult to see its chin well. I agree the left hand bird is definitely a Linnet, but I'm not 100% certain from this photo that the right hand bird is a Linnet.....there's just a slim possibility (<10%) that it may be a Twite. What do you think?
I think it's a very slim chance, given the location, and I think enough of the chin can be seen to rule out Twite...seems too dark. Admittedly the bill looks pale, though.
