You picked a beauty of a day to go to HH Chris, I wasn't too far away looking to see if the lizards would be tempted by the warmth to come out and play. I shall have to look up CHOG and see what is about at HH.
It was such a calm sunny day, not a breath of wind. There was also a double high tide within a couple of hours, not something I am familiar with. Also right at the end of the spit there appears to be an extending sand bar which has grown considerably in the month since my last visit, regards Chris.
