My computer screen is

My computer screen is currently on the blink and giving some rather weird colour distortions but the butterfly in the two pictures at the top with the dark streaks in the wing certainly looks unusual. I have not found reference to any aberrant looking like yours so I don't think it is a form that is associated with any particular area.
Thomas & Lewington (Butterflies of Britain and Ireland) mentions that both brighter and darker individuals can often be found flying in the same colony but doesn't describe anything quite like your butterfly. It also indicates that in Scotland the species tends to get paler and duller to the north and west.
